Neck Tattoo Designs

Designs shaped for the neck: ornaments that sit across the nape, narrow pieces that follow the side, and small ones for behind the ear. Nine drawings and four on skin.

Every tattoo image on this site is a generated illustration. None of it is work by this artist and none of it records a client result.

Worth knowing before you choose

The neck decides the shape before you decide the subject. It is a narrow column at the side, a wide shallow band across the nape and a small flat patch behind the ear, so a design that works on a forearm usually has to be redrawn rather than moved. That is why the pieces here are either mirrored left to right for the nape and the throat, or tall and thin for the side. Two things worth knowing before you book. The neck is thin skin over muscle and cartilage with very little between the needle and the nerve, so most people rate it near the top of the pain chart, and the throat above the collarbone is the sharpest part of it. And it is the placement that is hardest to cover with clothing, which is the one thing worth thinking through calmly rather than on the day.

Or describe what you actually want

None of these has to be it. Say what is closest, what you would change, where it goes and roughly how big, and the drawing comes back before anything is booked.
